Missouri Theater

Marked by its decorative details of Assyrian and Persian architecture, the MISSOURI THEATER in St. Joseph has provided a unique and beautiful forum for music, art, and culture for over a century.

Designed by the Boller Brothers of Kansas City, the Missouri Theater was opened in 1902.  Through 1970, it was a premiere cinema house, eventually expanding its lure to Community Theater, touring arts, and national programs; it has been featured in motion pictures, television specials, and continues to be a point-of-interest for turn of the century design devotees.

The theatre has gone through restoration, survived fires, and remains the prime venue for music and more.

For its history and continued dedication for the presentation of art in all its forms: the Missouri Theater was honored by the Missouri Music Hall of Fame on August 30, 2013.
