For Kansas City radio listeners, two letters defined the power of music: “K-Y”.

From July 1, 1974 - September 19, 1997, the “Original Home of Rock N Roll” was KYYS.  This defining sound is the first radio station to be honored by the Missouri Music Hall of Fame.

The lasting impact of the original talents and unique programming made an indelible mark on the audio landscape of Missouri music.

For its historical contribution to the golden age of FM radio, the original staff and crew of “KY-102” takes its place in the canon of the Missouri Music Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2013.
